My interest on identity and personhood started being centered on oral societies and their perception of reality. Parallel to this, I was always interested on gender identity. Throughout time, both interests merged.
Therefore, I focus my research on two topics only apparently different: ethnoarchaeological studies of oral societies (mainly hunter-gatherer societies) and socio-historic construction of male and female identities.
I have done fieldwork in Brazil, with the Awá-Guajá hunter-gatherers, and in Guatemala, with the Q'eqchí' people.
